Mind Body Health

After earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University, I entered the mental health system to explore my passion for counseling and psychology. Starting at an Inpatient mental health treatment center I began providing individual, family, and crisis counseling. In addition, I worked as a psychometrician providing psychological testing at local nursing homes. While working on my Master of Arts degree in Counseling I developed a passion for community outreach. As Program Director of Girls Inc. Of the Greater Peninsula I provided and coordinated outreach services to at-risk populations in Newport News and Hampton, Va. This community outreach experience enriched my knowledge and passion for underprivileged, underserved communities. Later, as Lead Social Worker at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center and as a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice I was able to utilize these experiences to help a diverse community of individuals with a variety of mental illnesses. Currently, I enjoy providing this knowledge base and passion for helping individuals, families, and couples achieve their goals in a safe, inclusive environment. I am a native of Hampton Roads and in my free time I enjoy exploring all our area has to offer with my family, friends and two goldendoodles, Sandy and Annie.
